The EFF leader accused the minister of being a hypocrite, but Mbaks responded by saying Malema had fooled himself if he thought he’s not now in coalition with the DA.
Minister of Sport and Recreation Fikile Mbalula slated EFF leader Julius Malema as a “harasser” following the party’s coalition briefing in Alexandra.
He accused the EFF leader of handing power to the DA on a silver platter without conditions attached. He said that if Malema thought he had somehow avoided going into coalition with the DA, he was fooling himself.
Malema had said that if he had to vote for a leader between Home Affairs Minister Malusi Gigaba and Minister of Sports and Recreation Fikile Mbalula, he’d choose Gigaba because “he knows what he stands for”, which is against the EFF.
“Mbalula can do anything for position. People who prioritise position over everything else are very dangerous,” said Malema.
The minister retaliated in a series of tweets against the EFF leader, saying that he resorts to harassing people “when politics fail”
“Malema enjoys playing the man. When politics fail him. He harass and victimise everyone who support the ANC and that makes them feel guilty [sic],” the minister responded on Twitter.
“We once had a coalition with DA in the Western Cape; it didn’t work. Cos it was like mixing water with oil.”
“What [were] the conditions for the DA? To get such victory on a silver platter. The answer is give us the ANC. Marriage made in heaven.
“What I [know] in politics is that you can’t give your votes to a party and still say you are not in coalition; at best you abstain.”
